You have been selected to become the manager of some of the world`s leading beach resorts in Paradise Beach, a fun and exciting Strategy game! Create your dream retreat as you construct buildings, plant pretty foliage, and even design the layout of your peaceful getaways. Travel to different islands and use your imagination to keep your customers nice and relaxed as you plot the perfect Paradise Beach!
This game is one of my favorite games! The game is a blend of casual builder strategy with a strong twist of action tycoon simulation games (like Roller Coaster Tycoon) all wrapped into one.
Start off your Paradise Beach experience by meeting Mr. Gates (no relation to Bill Gates) and his (fairly annoying) granddaughter, Emmy, as they work to develop six separate islands into fantastic beach resorts. Each of the six islands are broken down into five levels, the first level being a blank island where you start your resort building process and each of the next four levels building upon each previous level. On several islands you’ll be introduced to several special exhibits such as the Tuttle Enclosure, Dinosaur Bones Exhibits, etc.
Paradise Beach development has been made very easy. Menus at the bottom of the screen allow you to build buildings / stands, accessory items (fountains, benches, etc) and even hire employees. One key feature is the buttons that show you coverage grids. Coverage grids will show the area that each employee works allowing you to make sure your employees cover as much beach as possible without large overlapping areas in their coverage. There are also two other coverage grids, the greenery coverage grid showing how well your plants and trees cover the beach area, as well as the trash indicator showing the “messiest” areas of your beach resort.
The six islands and five levels per island provide you with hours of beach building fun! After beating the 30th level, you will also be allowed to place the special 31st pirate ghost level. While the game play is very addicting, Paradise Beach also has great graphics and sound effects. Buildings, structures, and people are colorful and quiet realistic.
This game would have gotten a solid 5 starts, but I did have it lock up on me twice. Not a huge deal, but I have read in some posts people complaining about this issue. This was certainly not a show stopper, but the slight game play interruption was enough to only give it 4 of 5 stars.
Pull up a lounge chair and order a drink at the Tiki Bar, your Paradise Beach resort is waiting!
